Okay, time to see who the REALLY dedicated windsurfers are.... Just kidding, but it should be pretty good this afternoon and tomorrow with forecasted 15-25 and higher gusts. Yes, it's going to be chilly, but if there's any consolation, the water is really warm. I'd say in the lower 60's in Blythe Cove.  I'll try to leave work early today. If the gates are closed, the dogs are probably out back. If open, we've put them in the house.

It's that time... come down here some time this winter, Ralph. The water is usually warmer (relatively speaking) here. Right now, in my cove it's about 60 degrees. I've actually windsurfed (have photos somewhere) when the air was 23 degrees. Okay, the water at the time was about 50 so it probably was a tad warmer over the water. Whenever I gybed shards of ice would flick off the sail. Eventually, the footstraps froze solid and I couldn't use them. I didn't stay out longer than 10 minutes at a time. Interestingly, you could drop in the water to warm up. Normally, I abide by the 100 degree rule. (ex: 45 air 55 water=100)

why is winter time nw so consistently fierce?  seems like for every 20 nw nukes there maybe be 1 sw nuke.
